Suspect Identified in National Guard Attack Near White House

Two West Virginia National Guard members remain in critical condition after an ambush style attack on Wednesday just blocks from the White House. NBC News has learned the suspect is 29-year-old Rahamanullah Lakanwal, according to four senior law enforcement officials who say his last known address was in Washington state. D.C. National Guard shooting suspect faces charges of assault with intent to kill

U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro named the two National Guard troops who were shot and critically injured in Washington, D.C., as Sarah Beckstrom and Andrew Wolfe, both uniformed members of the West Virginia National Guard. Pirro went on to say the suspect, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, an Afghan national, is facing charges of assault with intent to kill and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence.
